The Company designs, materials and craftsmanship with a jet-set aesthetic that combines stylish elegance and a sporty attitude. The Company is an American sportswear house to a global accessories, footwear and apparel company with a presence in over 85 countries. Its segments include retail, wholesale and licensing. It is focused on retail stores, department stores, specialty stores and select licensing partners. As of March 30, 2013, its retail segment included 231 North American retail stores, including concessions, and 73 international retail stores, including concessions, in Europe and Japan. As of March 30, 2013, its wholesale segment included wholesale sales through approximately 2,215 department store and specialty store doors in North America and wholesale sales through approximately 1,034 department store and specialty store doors internationally. During the fiscal year ended March 30, 2013(fiscal 2013), its licensing segment accounted for approximately 4% of its total revenue and consists primarily of royalties earned on licensed products and its geographic licenses.
The Company offers two primary collections: the Michael Kors luxury collection and the MICHAEL Michael Kors accessible luxury collection. The Michael Kors collection establishes the aesthetic authority of its entire brand and is carried in many of its retail stores as well as in the finest luxury department stores in the world, including, among others, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Holt Renfrew, Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Printemps.T he MICHAEL Michael Kors collection is carried in all of its lifestyle stores as well as department stores throughout the world, including, among others, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Galeries Lafayette, Lotte, Hyundai, Isetan and Lane Crawford. Through its retail and wholesale segments sells its products in three principal geographic markets: North America, Europe and Japan. Through its licensing segment, which it licenses to third parties use of its brand name and trademarks, certain production, sales and/or distribution rights, the Company generates revenue primarily in North America.

In the MICHAEL Michael Kors collection, the Company offer: accessories, primarily handbags, which are created to meet the fashion and functional requirements of its broad and diverse consumer base, and small leather goods, such as clutches, wallets, wristlets and cosmetic cases; footwear, exclusively in women’s styles; and womenswear, including dresses, tops, jeans, pants, skirts, shorts and outerwear.
