NetApp, Inc. (NetApp), incorporated on November 01, 2001, is a provider of storage and data management software, systems and services. The Company’s fabric-attached storage (FAS) platform offers the storage platform for business applications, shared infrastructures and cloud environments. NetApp is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) storage provider and enables OEMs to offer IT and storage solutions that serve markets and customer requirements. The Company offers two storage product lines. The FAS architecture utilizes the Data ONTAP storage operating system. Data ONTAP delivers data protection, data management, and built-in software for virtualized, shared infrastructures, cloud computing, and mixed workload business applications. Its E-Series platform with SANtricity storage management software offers storage for SAN workloads. In addition, the Company’s all-flash storage array architecture, FlashRay provides capabilities to the all-flash market.

Data Storage Systems

The Company’s FAS family of unified storage systems streamlines, simplifies, and consolidates storage and data management. The Company’s NetApp FAS8000 Series storage systems help customers adapt to changing business needs and meet IT requirements. The FAS8000 systems deliver application performance across a range of SAN and NAS workloads. Other products in the FAS line include the FAS6200, FAS3200, and FAS2000 series of FAS systems. These systems are also designed to consolidate various types of storage workloads, including primary and secondary data, as well as structured and unstructured data, across all operating system platforms and network infrastructures. They also unify storage access for all standard network protocols based on host bus adapter technology and standard Internet Protocol networks.

The NetApp V-Series storage virtualization controllers provide data protection, data management, and storage for storage arrays. The E-Series products are used for general purpose computing, high-density content repositories, video surveillance, and high-performance computing workloads where data is managed by the application. The SANtricity storage management software and Dynamic Disk Pools (DDP) simplify storage and data management, data protection, and utilization. The E-Series family includes the entry-level E2600 and E2700 systems and the mid-range E5400 and E5500 systems that serve data-intensive workloads.

Flash Systems and Technologies

The Flash storage is offered in the form of hybrid arrays, a practical approach that uses a mix of flash and traditional hard disk drives. All-flash are used for business-critical workloads. NetApp offers three all-flash platforms: EF Series Flash Arrays and FAS Series All-Flash Configurations. The EF Series Flash Arrays consists of EF540 and EF550 flash products. The FAS Series All-Flash Configurations can be deployed as a standalone system in a Data ONTAP storage operating system configuration. The FlashRay storage array systems provide data protection. FlashRay arrays include management capabilities. They also include built-in enterprise storage features such as inline deduplication and compression.

Data Management Software

The Data ONTAP storage operating system is a data storage platform that supports any mix of storage area network (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) environments. Data ONTAP software enables unrestricted and secure data movement across cloud environments. The NetApp Data Protection products offer a range of solutions designed for data protection operations in any environment from dedicated and shared IT to cloud storage. NetApp technologies include: Snapshot Copies Technology, SnapMirror Data Replication Solutions, SnapRestore Data Recovery Software, SnapVault and Open Systems SnapVault Backup Software, MetroCluster High Availability and Disaster Recovery Software and SnapProtect Management Software.

The Snapshot Copies Technology enables online backups of large datasets. TheSnapMirror Data Replication Solutions Provide disaster recovery protection for business-critical data matched to the recovery point objectives and recovery time objectives of customer environments. The SnapRestore Data Recovery Software uses stored Snapshot backups to recover file systems or data volumes. The SnapVault and Open Systems SnapVault Backup Software provide network- and storage-optimized data movement for disk-to-disk backup. The SnapProtect Management Software manages Snapshot copies, replication, and tape from a single console to enable backup solutions. The Symantec NetBackup, CommVault Simpana, and Syncsort data protection software manages data protection stack.

The Company offers a suite of products such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, FDA Title 21 CFR Part 11, SEC Rule 17a-4, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Storage architectures can be created utilizing the NetApp SnapLock compliance software. The NetApp OnCommand storage management software offers customers control, automate, and analyze their shared storage infrastructures. Its management software family of products provides a range of storage and data management tools. Through its portfolio of data center tools, it gives customers the ability to monitor service levels, manage performance, automate and integrate storage processes, and support change management in enterprise SAN and NAS environments. The SnapManager Storage Management Software and SnapDrive Data Management Software work with enterprise applications to provide application data management and enable application-aware backup and recovery.

The OnCommand System Manager provides management solutions for smaller storage environments within enterprises or service providers. The OnCommand Unified Manager provides a single dashboard to monitor and optimize storage availability, capacity, performance, and data protection across large storage environments. The OnCommand Performance Manager allows storage administrators to troubleshoot performance issues, isolate problems, and find solutions through system analysis. The OnCommand Workflow Automation automates storage workflows for virtualized and cloud environments and integrates with third-party orchestrators. The OnCommand Insight (formerly SANscreen) allows multivendor storage environments to be managed as an integrated, end-to-end service. The OnCommand Balance provides intelligence about application workloads, utilization levels, and use of virtual and physical resources.
