NuVista Energy Ltd. (NuVista) is an independent Canadian oil and gas company. NuVista is engaged in exploration, development and production activities on properties located in eight core areas of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. For the year ended December 31, 2008, NuVista drilled 115 (86 net) wells, resulting in 65 natural gas wells, 37 oil wells and 13 dry holes, for an overall success rate of 89%. During 2008, NuVista’s average production was 24,320 barrels of oil (Boe/d), comprised of 104,946 thousand cubic feet (Mcf/d) of natural gas, 2,357 barrels per day (Bbls/d) of associated natural gas liquids (liquids) and 4,472 Bbls/d of oil. On March 4, 2008, the business combination of NuVista and Rider Resources Ltd. pursuant to a plan of arrangement was completed. The business combination with Rider Resources Ltd. created an exploration and production on concentrated asset base and technical teams in place to deliver in shallow gas, deep gas, heavy oil and acquisitions.
