Oltchim SA is a Romania-based company, which is mainly active in the chemicals industry. It is divided into five business units: chlor-alkali, petrochemical, chemical, technical and construction materials. Its product range encompasses inorganic products, such as caustic soda, chlorine, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen peroxide; macromolecular products, such as polyvinyl chloride, polyetherspolyols, and synthesis organic products, including oxo alcohols, chlorinated products, phthalic anhydride and dioctyl phthalate. The Company also produces pesticides, door and window frames, celluloid and thermo-isolating boards, as well as alimentary products, such as vegetables and fruits cans, beverages, eggs, forages, fodders, poultry and pork meat. Its subsidiaries include Oltchim Medical Products SRL, Oltchim GmbH, Sistemplast SA, Oltchim Italia and Oltchim Fundatia. It distributes its products nationally and internationally. As of December 31, 2008, A.V.A.S. holds a 53.26% stake in Oltchim SA.
