Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (Pacific Ethanol), incorporated on February 28, 2005, is a producer and marketer of low-carbon renewable fuels in the Western United States. Pacific Ethanol markets all the ethanol produced by four ethanol production facilities located in California, Idaho and Oregon, or the Pacific Ethanol Plants, all the ethanol produced by two other ethanol producers in the Western United States and ethanol purchased from other third-party suppliers throughout the United States. The Company also markets ethanol co-products, including wet distiller’s grains, or WDG, and corn oil for the Pacific Ethanol Plants. The Company’s corn oil is sold to poultry and biodiesel customers. The Company’s subsidiaries include Kinergy Marketing LLC and Pacific Ag. Products, LLC. The Company manages the production and operation of the following four ethanol production facilities: Pacific Ethanol Madera LLC, Pacific Ethanol Columbia, LLC, Pacific Ethanol Stockton LLC and Pacific Ethanol Magic Valley, LLC.
The Company holds a 91% ownership interest in New PE Holdco LLC, or New PE Holdco, the owner of each of the plant holding companies, or the Plant Owners, that collectively own the Pacific Ethanol Plants. The Company provides ethanol transportation, storage and delivery services through third-party service providers. The Company has ethanol marketing agreements with third-party ethanol producers, including Calgren Renewable Fuels, LLC and AE Advanced Fuels Keyes, Inc.
The Company competes with Archer Daniels Midland Company and Valero Energy Corporation.
