PhotoMedex, Inc., incorporated on December 28, 2010, is a global health products and services company providing integrated disease management and solutions to dermatologists, professional aestheticians and consumers. The Company provides products and services that address skin diseases and conditions, including acne and photo damage. It operates through three business segments: Consumer segment, Physician Recurring segment and Professional segment. It provides skin health solutions to spa markets, as well as traditional retail, online and infomercial outlets for home-use products. Through its subsidiary, Radiancy, Inc., it offers a range of home-use devices under the no!no! brand, for various indications, including hair removal, acne treatment, skin rejuvenation and lower back pain. In addition, its professional product line includes offerings for acne clearance, skin tightening, psoriasis care and hair removal sold to physician clinics and spas. The Company is also engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of surgical products, including free-beam and Contact Laser Systems for surgery.

The Company markets Contact Laser surgery by combining its Contact Laser Delivery Systems with a LaserPro Diode laser system to create a multi-specialty surgical instrument that cuts, coagulates or vaporizes tissue. The Company markets such products under the trade name, PhotoMedex Surgical Products. The Company has operations in North America, the United Kingdom, Israel and Hong Kong. The Company has a global retail footprint with approximately 5,000 retail outlets across the world. Its NEOVA skin care line is designed as a therapeutic intervention for preventing premature skin aging due to ultra violet (UV)-induced deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage. The topical technology focuses on repairing photo-damaged skin using a combination of DNA repair enzymes and its Copper Peptide Complex. The NEOVA technology represents another opportunity to integrate its marketing platform with its direct sales force for plastic surgeons and dermatologists.

Sales under the professional business segment are mainly generated from capital equipment, namely, its light and heat energy (LHE) brand products. The LHE brand Technology combines direct heat and a spectrum light source to provide treatment for acne care, skin tightening, skin rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, collagen renewal, vascular and pigmented lesion treatments, and hair removal. Using LHE, the Mistral intelligent phototherapy medical device can treat a spot size. no!no! Skin is a handheld consumer product sold across the world under the no!no! brand. XTRAC is an excimer laser technology. XTRAC provides treatment for psoriasis and other skin diseases for which there are no cures. Excimer lasers emit very concentrated UV light and are used in ophthalmology and dermatology practices. The XTRAC brand lasers deliver ultra narrow-band ultraviolet B (UVB) light to affected areas of the skin in order to treat an array of skin conditions, including psoriasis and vitiligo. no!no! hair removal products are built upon its heat-based Thermicon brand technology to address consumer concerns over limitations of hair removal products.

The Company markets a line of consumer products based on the Thermicon brand technology. These products are sold globally through infomercials and television shopping channels, retail stores, online shopping Websites and distribution agreements. The LHE brand technology is used primarily in its professional products, which entail capital equipment sold to physicians and skin care specialists. The no!no! Skin puts out wide spectrum light (from 400 to 2,000 nanometers) and gentle pulses of heat to penetrate blocked pores and stop acne at its source. The device pinpoints Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes), or acne-causing bacteria, in the pore. The green light serves to stimulate the release of oxygen radicals, which attack the P. acnes. LHE brand technology is also used in the Clear Touch a handheld consumer product sold for the treatment of nail fungus.
