Life Sciences Segment
The Company's Life Sciences technologies facilitate the process of drug discovery, development, regulatory validation and production. They are used in the research laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food and beverage industries and in hospitals at the point of patient care. Sales in the Medical, BioPharmaceuticals and Food & Beverage markets are made through direct sales and distributors. The Company's medical products help control the spread of infections in hospitals. The Company's breathing-circuit, intravenous and point-of-use Pall-Aquasafe water filters help protect people from these infections. The Company's cell therapy product portfolio provides enabling technologies for the regenerative medicine market.
The Company sells a line of filtration and purification technologies, appurtenant hardware and engineered systems primarily to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for use by them in the development and commercialization of chemically synthesized and biologically derived drugs, plasma and vaccines. The Company provides a range of advanced filtration solutions for each stage of drug development through drug production.
