The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (RBS), incorporated on March 25, 1968, is a banking and financial services company. The Company provides financial products and services to personal, commercial, corporate and institutional customers, through its subsidiaries, The Royal Bank of Scotland and National Westminster Bank Plc (NatWest), as well as through other brands, including Ulster Bank and Coutts. The Company's segments include Personal & Business Banking (PBB), Commercial & Private Banking (CPB), Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB), Capital Resolution, Williams & Glyn (W&G), and Central items & other. The Company's businesses are focused on the United Kingdom and Ireland markets. Williams & Glyn consists of the RBS England and Wales branch-based businesses, along with certain small and medium enterprises (SME) and corporate activities across the United Kingdom.
Personal & Business Banking
The Personal & Business Banking (PBB) segment consists of two segments: UK PBB and Ulster Bank RoI. UK PBB serves individuals and mass affluent customers in the United Kingdom together with small businesses. UK PBB includes Ulster Bank customers in Northern Ireland. Ulster Bank RoI serves individuals and businesses in the Republic of Ireland (RoI). PBB's principal brands are NatWest in England and Wales, Royal Bank of Scotland in Scotland, and Ulster Bank RoI in the island of Ireland.
Commercial & Private Banking
The Company's CPB segment consists of three segments: Commercial Banking, Private Banking and RBS International (RBSI). Commercial Banking serves commercial and corporate customers in the United Kingdom and Western Europe. Private Banking serves the United Kingdom connected high net worth individuals. RBSI serves retail, commercial, corporate and financial institution customers in Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Gibraltar.
Corporate & Institutional Banking
The Company's CIB segment focuses on the United Kingdom and Western Europe corporates and global financial institutions. The CIB segment offers three product lines: Rates, Currencies and Financing.
The Capital Resolution consists of CIB Capital Resolution and RBS Capital Resolution (RCR). CIB Capital Resolution consists of over three regional businesses, including Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia-Pacific (APAC); Shipping; Markets assets; Other assets, including Saudi Hollandi Bank, and Global Transaction Services. RCR consists of over four asset groups: Ulster Bank (RCR Ireland), Real Estate Finance (Ireland), Corporate and Markets.
Central items & other
The Company's Central items & other include corporate functions, such as treasury, finance, risk management, compliance, legal, communications and human resources. Central functions manage RBS capital resources and RBS-wide regulatory projects and provide services to various segments.
