Richmont Mines Inc., incorporated on February 12, 1981, is a mining company. The Company is engaged in mining, exploration and development of mining properties, principally gold. The Company operates gold mines at various sites in Quebec and Ontario. The Company's segments include Quebec and Ontario. The Company is engaged in producing gold from the Island Gold Mine in Ontario and the Beaufor Mine in Quebec.

The Island Gold mine is located 83 kilometers northeast of Wawa, Ontario. It is part of the Island Gold Project, which is divided into nine parts (properties) comprising 219 patented, leased and staked claims covering 7,772 hectares, mainly within the townships of Finan and Jacobson. The Island Gold Project is located in the Michipicoten Greenstone Belt, which is part of the Wawa sub-province within the Archean Superior Province. The Beaufor Mine is located 25 kilometers northeast of Val-d'Or, Quebec. The Camflo mill has rated capacity of 1,200 short tons per day. It is located at Malartic, Quebec. The 7.58 square kilometers Wasamac property is located in the west of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.

The Company operates Camflo Northwest property, the Chimo Group, Louvem 117 property, Cripple Creek property and Sewell property. The 4.53 square kilometers Camflo Northwest property is located five kilometers east of Malartic, Quebec. The property is between the past-producing Camflo Mine (1.7 million ounces) and the Black Cliff deposit, approximately two kilometers north of the Larder Lake Cadillac fault. The Chimo Group is made up of four properties, covering a total of 20.29 square kilometers, located 40 kilometers east of Val-d'Or, Quebec. The 2.5 square kilometers Louvem 117 property is located 12 kilometers east of Val-d'Or, Quebec. The Cripple Creek property is 6.94 square kilometers (694 hectares), and is located 35 kilometers southwest of Timmins, Ontario, five kilometers from the Timmins West Deposit, and is adjacent to the Rusk Gold Zone. The 2.7 square kilometers (270 hectares) Sewell property is located in the Northern Swayze greenstone belt, part of the archean Abitibi subprovince, which is a Neoarchean granitoide-greenstone terrane.
