The Company's retail networks in France are formed from the alliance of three brands, which includes Societe Generale, the national bank; Credit du Nord, a group of regional banks, and Boursorama Banque, an online bank. The French Networks distribute insurance products from Sogecap and Sogessur, subsidiaries operating within the Specialised Financial Services and Insurance division. The Credit du Nord Group consists of eight regional banks Courtois, Kolb, Laydernier, Nuger, Rhone-Alpes, Tarneaud, Credit du Nord and Societe Marseillaise de Credit, and an asset management company and a brokerage firm (Gilbert Dupont). Boursorama Banque offers a range of banking products and services. Boursorama operates in four countries, which include France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Spain.
The Company provides an online banking in France under the Boursorama Banque brand via the Website www.boursorama-banque.com, with a range of banking solutions ranging from conventional banking products to investment products such as undertaking for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS) and life insurance vehicles. It operates online brokerage and savings in Europe, offering private investors an opportunity to manage their online savings independently. Operating in France and through 21 entities around the world, Global Transaction and Payment Service (GTPS) is part of the French Networks. This activity targets individual customers, business customers and financial institutions that need assistance managing their banking and sales flows and payments. GTPS operates in two activities, which include Global Transaction Banking (GTB) and Global Payment Services (GPS). GTB offers a range of services to corporate customers and financial institutions. Its services include cash management, international trade finance, correspondent banking, factoring, foreign exchange services related to transaction banking activities. GPS is in charge of internal provider services, which covers the development of payment instruments and banking solution engineering (management of projects and developments in the processing system); flow management, and transaction processing.
International Retail Banking
International Retail Banking division provides covers retail banking activities. International Retail Banking is present in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, the Mediterranean Basin, Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and in the French Overseas territories. In Russia, it has three brand companies, which include Rosbank, DeltaCredit and Rusfinance.
Corporate and Investment Banking
Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) is present on the financial markets in the Company’s regions of operation, with European coverage and representative offices in the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Americas and Asia-Pacific regions. The business line offers its customers bespoke financial solutions combining advisory services and services in three areas of investment banking, financing and market activities.SG CIB offers its issuer clients (corporates, financial institutions, sovereigns and the public sector), advisory services on their development, as well as market access to finance this development.
SG CIB also offers services for investors managing savings investments. The Financing and Advisory division unites the Coverage & Investment Banking and Global Finance activities. Financing and Advisory covers hedging activities for major clients, mergers & acquisitions advisory services, as well as global finance activities combining structured financing, export or project finance, fund-raising (debt or equity), financial engineering and hedging solutions for issuers. The Coverage & Investment Banking teams offer their clients, which include businesses, financial institutions and the public sector, based on strategy advisory services, covering mergers and acquisitions and initial public offering structuring, as well as debt and capital restructuring and asset and liability management;
Specialised Financial Services and Insurance
The Specialised Financial Services and Insurance Division consist of a set of businesses for businesses and individual customers alike in France and abroad. It offers life, non-life and personal protection insurance products (Societe Generale Insurance), vendor and equipment financing solutions for professionals (Societe Generale Equipment Finance), a range of consumer loans (Societe Generale Consumer Finance), as well as financing and management solutions for automobile fleets (ALD Automotive). Societe Generale Insurance, the Company’s insurance business line, covers the needs of individual, professional and business customers for life insurance investment solutions, retirement savings schemes, health insurance, personal protection and non-life insurance.
ALD Automotive offers operational vehicle leasing and fleet management solutions for businesses of all sizes in both local and international markets. Societe Generale Equipment Finance is engaged in vendor and professional equipment finance. This business is conducted through partnership agreements with business introducers (professional equipment manufacturers and distributors), banking networks and directly. Societe Generale Consumer Finance manages the Company’s consumer finance activities. The business offers multi-product financing solutions for individual customers and partners: car loans available at dealerships and in-store financing, direct financial solutions for individual customers (via point-of-sale networks, business introducers or by using customer prospect databases) and servicing for its retail banking networks.
Private Banking, Global Investment and Management Services
The Global Investment Management and Services (GIMS) consist of Private Banking with Societe Generale Private Banking; Asset Management with Amundi; Securities Services with Societe Generale Securities Services, and derivatives brokerage with Newedge. The Societe Generale Private Banking business line offers wealth management services. Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) offers a range of services. SGSS also offers services, which include clearing services, custody and depository bank activity, fund administration and asset servicing services, issuer services, liquidity management services, and transfer agent. Newedge is a 50/50 joint venture between Societe Generale and Crdit Agricole CIB. Newedge offers its clients a range of clearing and execution services for listed derivative contracts (in financial instruments and commodities) and over-the-counter (OTC) contracts (over-the-counter interest rate, foreign exchange, equity, index and commodities).
