10 Dec 2013
Sionix Corporation, incorporated in 1996, designs, develops and sells water management and treatment systems for use in several industries, including oil and gas, mining, agriculture, commercial, municipalities (both potable and wastewater), industry (both make-up water and wastewater), energy production and emergency response. The Company’s business is to develop advanced water treatment technology for public and private recycling and reuse, wastewater treatment systems, as well as industrial and agricultural systems.
Dissolved Air Floatation
The Company’s dissolved air flotation (DAF) technology injects microscopic bubbles of air under pressure into the water being treated. The Company’s DAF technology removes the organic particles in water, and provides a barrier against microbial contaminants, such as cryptosporidium and giardia lamblia. The DAF technology is used in water and wastewater treatment, primarily in Europe. Its mobile water treatment system (MWTS) utilizes and refines the DAF technology to provide a pre-treatment process using ordinary oxygen. The Company’s MWTS produces 280 gallons of post-DAF treated water per minute, which is about 403,200 gallons per day.
The MWTS technology can treat approximately 9,500 barrels of water a day. During the fiscal year ended September 30, 2010 (fiscal 2010), the Company sold its MWTS to Wenning Poultry, which is an egg production facility in the Midwest. As of September 30, 2010, it held nine United States patents on technology-related to water treatment.
The Company competes with General Electric Co., Siemens Water Technologies and Cuno Incorporated.
