Twitter, Inc. (Twitter), incorporated on April 19, 2007, is a global platform for public self-expression and conversation in real time. Twitter is a real-time platform, where any user can create a Tweet and any user can follow other users. Each Tweet is limited to 140 characters of text, but can also contain rich media, including photos, videos and applications. Viewers can see photos, videos and conversations directly in Tweets to get the whole story at a glance, and all in one place. The Company offers Twitter apps for phones, tablets and computers. The Company generates its advertising revenue primarily from the sale of its three Promoted Products: Promoted Tweets, Promoted Accounts and Promoted Trends. Products for Users
Twitter allows users to express themselves and create, distribute and discover content. The Company’s products and services include products for users, products for platform partners, products and services for advertisers and products for data partners. Products for users include Home Timeline, Self-Expressions Mechanisms, Social Mechanisms, Discovery Mechanisms, Notifications, Platform Ubiquity, Vine and #Music. Home Timeline displays the user’s individual Tweets as well as Tweets from the users they follow, with the recent Tweets appearing at the top of the timeline. The Self-Expression Mechanisms include Tweet Composer, Profile and Lists. Tweet Composer is used when a user wants to create a Tweet, they can do so by simply clicking on the Compose new Tweet box or icon, composing a Tweet and clicking Tweet to send the Tweet to their followers. Profile includes a user’s name, Twitter username, location, Website, photograph and short biography, and also includes lists of the accounts that the user is following, the user’s followers, the user’s Tweets and media gallery. A list is a curated group of Twitter users. Users can create their own lists or subscribe to lists created by other users.
The Social Mechanisms include Follow, Who to Follow, Favorites, @Replies and Retweets, Mentions, @Connect, Direct Messages and Protected Tweets. Discovery Mechanisms include Trends, Search and #Discover. Users can customize how they are notified about activity on Twitter. They may elect to receive email notifications, SMS messages and mobile push notifications, which are alerts sent to the home screen of a mobile device by a mobile application. Platform Ubiquity, the Company makes Twitter available across a variety of mobile and desktop applications and websites. It includes Mobile Applications, Mobile Web and Twitter.com, SMS and Desktop Applications. Vine is a mobile application available on the iOS and Android operating systems that enables users to create and distribute short looping videos of up to six seconds in length. Vine users create and distribute their videos to their followers on Vine, with the option of tweeting them to their Twitter followers and sharing them on social networks. #Music is a mobile application that helps users discover new music and artists based on Tweets. #Music is available on the iOS platform.

The Company’s Products for Platform Partners provides a set of tools, public application programming interfaces (APIs) and embeddable widgets that developers can use to contribute their content to its platform, distribute Twitter content across their properties and enhance their websites and applications with Twitter content. Over six million Websites have integrated with Twitter, adding value to its user experience. In addition, over three million applications have been registered by developers to enable them to integrate with its platform, and leverage Twitter content to enhance and extend their applications in new and creative ways. The Products and Services for advertisers include Promoted Tweets, Promoted Accounts and Promoted Trends.
Products and Services for Advertisers
The Company's Promoted Products enable its advertisers to promote their brands, products and services. Its Promoted Products consist of Promoted Tweets, Promoted Accounts and Promoted Trends. Promoted Tweets, which are labeled as promoted, appear within a user’s timeline or search results just like an ordinary Tweet regardless of device, whether it is desktop or mobile. Promoted Accounts, which are labeled as promoted, appear in the same format and place as accounts suggested by its Who to Follow recommendation engine. Promoted Trends, which are labeled as promoted, appear at the top of the list of trending topics for an entire day in a particular country or on a global basis.
Products for Data Partners
The Company offers subscription access to its data feed for data partners who wish to access data beyond the public API. Its data partners use this data to generate and monetize data analytics, from which data partners can identify user sentiment, influence and other trends. Its platform provides its data partners with the access to actionable data and ability to create measurement standards.
