Profile: Vietnam Infrastructure Limited (VNIq.L)

Vietnam Infrastructure Limited (VNI) is a closed-end infrastructure and infrastructure-related investment company. It seeks medium-term capital gains with some recurring income through investments in infrastructure and infrastructure-related sectors, such as energy, transportation, industrial park development, telecommunication infrastructure and water utilities. Geographically, VNI’s investment focus is on Greater Indochina comprising Vietnam (minimum of 70%), Cambodia, Laos and Southern China. As of June 30, 2008, its top five investments were Tan Tao Industrial Park Corporation, Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Co., Long An S.E.A. Industrial Park and Service Area, Pha Lai Thermal Power JSC and Can Don Hydro Power JSC. VNI has established a joint venture company, Vina-CPK, to develop Ba Thien Industrial Park (BTII) in Vinh Phuc Province. VNI owns an 80% stake in the joint venture. VNI's investment manager is VinaCapital Investment Management Ltd.
