Whitehaven Coal Limited (WCL) is engaged in the development and operation of coal mines in New South Wales. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2009, the Company completed the development of and began operating from the Rocglen and Sunnyside mines. The Company operates five open cut mines, Canyon, Tarrawonga, Werris Creek, Rocglen and Sunnyside, and is developing the Narrabri North underground mine. The Company also operates the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) and rail loader at Gunnedah.
