WPP PLC (WPP) along with its subsidiaries and affiliates is engaged in communication services businesses. The Company operates in four segments: Advertising and Media Investment Management, Information, Insight and Consultancy, Public Relations and Public Affairs, and Branding and Identity, Healthcare and Specialist Communications. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company’s consolidated revenues were derived from Advertising and Media Investment Management, with the remaining 55% of its revenues being derived from the remaining three segments. In February 2009, the Company acquired Red Dot Square Solutions. In October 2008, the Company completed the acquisition of TNS Group (TNS). In August 2008, it announced that its wholly owned operating company acquired a 51% stake in Yunes SMA, S.A. In August 2008, it announced that its wholly owned operating company Bates141, acquired a majority stake in 10AM Communications (10AM).
