Cimarex Energy Co., incorporated on February 14, 2002, is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company. The Company's segment is exploration and production. The Company's operations are located in the United States, mainly in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. The Company's operations are focused in approximately two main areas, such as the Permian Basin and the Mid-Continent region. Its Permian Basin region encompasses west Texas and southeast New Mexico. Its Mid-Continent region consists of Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. The Company drilled or participated in approximately 219 gross (99 net) wells, of which it operated 123 gross (81.9 net) wells.
The Company's Permian Basin efforts are located in the western half of the Permian Basin known as the Delaware Basin. The Company is focused on drilling horizontal wells that yielded oil and liquids-rich gas from the Wolfcamp shale, the Bone Spring formation and the Avalon shale. The Permian region produces approximately 542 million cubic feet equivalent per day. In the Mid-Continent region, the Company is focused in the Cana-Woodford shale and the Meramec horizon, both in Oklahoma. The Mid-Continent region produces approximately 432 million cubic feet equivalent per day. The Company owns an interest in approximately 10,348 gross (3,153 net) productive oil and gas wells.
