Activision Blizzard Reiterates FY 2009 Outlook; Issues Q4 2009 Outlook Below Analysts' Estimates

Activision Blizzard reiterated fiscal 2009 outlook for GAAP net revenues of $4.05 billion and GAAP earnings per diluted share (EPS) of $0.26. On a non-GAAP basis, the Company continues to expect net revenues of $4.5 billion and EPS of $0.63. For the fourth quarter of 2009, the Company expects to deliver GAAP net revenues of $1.33 billion and GAAP loss per share of $0.04. On a non-GAAP basis, the Company expects net revenues of $2.22 billion and $0.43 earnings per diluted share. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts on an average were expecting the Company to report revenue of $4.5 billion for fiscal 2009; non-GAAP EPS of $0.44 on revenue of $2.30 billion for the fourth quarter of 2009.

Activision Blizzard announced that for fiscal 2009, it has lowered GAAP net revenues from $4.3 billion to $4.05 billion, and its outlook for non-GAAP net revenues from $4.8 billion to $4.5 billion. The Company is increasing its GAAP earnings per diluted share outlook to $0.26 from $0.24, and re-affirming its non-GAAP earnings per diluted share outlook of $0.63. For the third quarter of 2009, it expects GAAP net revenues of $680 million, and GAAP loss per diluted share of $0.03. On a non-GAAP basis, the company expects net revenues of $700 million and $0.03 earnings per diluted share for the third quarter. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenue of $888 million and non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $0.10 for the third quarter of 2009.

Activision Blizzard announced that for fiscal 2009, it has reaffirmed its outlook. The Company raised its outlook for GAAP net revenues to $4.3 billion, and GAAP earnings per diluted share (EPS) of $0.24. On a non-GAAP comparable basis, the Company now expects net revenues of $4.8 billion and non-GAAP comparable diluted EPS are expected to be $0.63. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenue of $4.8 billion for the same period.
