Reuters reported that according to Crain's Chicago Business report CME Group Inc. is in talks to take over the Chicago Board Options Exchange in a deal that would value Chicago Board Options Exchange at up to $5 billion. 

 
CME Group Inc. Announces Launch Of New Petroleum Last Day Financial Futures Contracts

CME Group Inc. announced the launch of trading and clearing services for three new petroleum last day financially settled futures contracts. Trading will be available on the New York trading floor and clearing services will be available through CME ClearPort, a set of flexible clearing services open to over-the-counter (OTC) market participants to substantially mitigate counterparty risk and provide neutral settlement prices across asset classes. Trading and clearing are scheduled to begin on November 1, for trade date November 2. These contracts will be listed by and subject to the rules and regulations of NYMEX.

CME Group Inc. announced the launch of trading and clearing services for four new five decimal place natural gas liquids average price options contracts. Trading will be available on the New York trading floor and clearing services will be available through CME ClearPort, a set of flexible clearing services open to over-the-counter (OTC) market participants to substantially mitigate counterparty risk and provide neutral settlement prices across asset classes. Trading and clearing are scheduled to begin on October 11 for trade date October 12. These contracts will be listed by and subject to the rules and regulations of NYMEX. 

 
CME Group Inc To Take 25% Stake In Bursa Malaysia Bhd's Derivatives Unit-Business Times Singapore

Business Times Singapore reported that Bursa Malaysia Bhd (Bursa) has sealed an agreement with CME Group Inc (CME) that will ultimately see CME taking up a 25% interest in Bursa's derivatives unit. The partnership will also lead to the listing of all existing and future Bursa derivatives' products on CME Globex. The transfer is expected to be completed by the second half of 2010. The exchange's derivatives unit will first acquire 100% of Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Clearing after which CME will acquire 25% of Bursa's derivatives subsidiary.
