CPI International, Inc.'s Communications & Power Industries Receives $4.9 Million Aegis Repairs Contract
Communications & Power Industries, Inc. (CPI) announced that it has received a one-year contract for up to $4.9 million to support the Aegis weapons system. CPI, a subsidiary of CPI International, Inc. Under the contract, CPI will provide traveling wave tubes (TWTs) to support the AN/SPY-1D(V) radar system on the Aegis weapons system. CPI's TWT shipments for this contract are expected to begin in the second half of fiscal 2010 and be completed within 12 months.

The Malibu Division of CPI International, Inc.'s Communications & Power Industries, Inc. (CPI) announced that it has received a contract from Cubic Defense Applications, Inc. for tactical common data link (TCDL) ground and airborne antenna terminals to support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) applications for the U.S. Navy's MQ-8B Fire Scout, a Vertical Takeoff and Landing Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV).

CPI International, Inc.'s Malibu Division has been awarded multiple contracts totaling more than $3 million by L-3 Communications Systems West for low-rate initial production of advanced tactical common data link (TCDL) antenna terminals to support intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) applications. CPI expects to receive full-rate production contracts at a later date. Under these initial contracts, which are expected to be completed in calendar year 2009, CPI Malibu Division will provide tactical and portable TCDL antennas operating in Ku-band, X-band and dual X-band/Ku-band frequencies.
CPI International, Inc.'s Communications & Power Industries Receives $1.7 Million Initial Contract for High-Power Amplifiers to Support a Multinational Organization
Communications & Power Industries, Inc. (CPI) announced that it has received an approximately $1.7 million initial contract from Globecomm Systems Inc. to support a multinational defense organization. Under the contract, CPI will supply high-power, X-band communications amplifiers for new and upgraded satellite ground terminals. CPI's high-power amplifiers will be used to expand the capacity of existing terminals to operate in X-band frequencies, as well as in the design and development of new satellite ground terminals that also operate in X-band frequencies. CPI is a subsidiary of CPI International, Inc. Work on this contract will be performed at CPI's Satcom Division, and shipments are scheduled to begin in fiscal 2009. The initial program is expected to result in a multi-year program for CPI, with potential follow-on contracts of up to $3.5 million over the next three years.
