TapImmune Inc. Signs License Agreement With Crucell N.V.
TapImmune Inc. announced that it has signed a license agreement with Crucell N.V. Under the license TapImmune may use PER.C6 cells in its development programs. The PER.C6 cell line is ideally suited for the development and large-scale manufacturing of a multitude of biopharmaceuticals. In the use of recombinant vaccines using adenoviral vectors, PER.C6 cells do not generate replication competent adenoviruses, making it the platform for the large-scale production of adenoviral vectors for clinical applications. The partnership between TapImmune and Crucell is important for the production of TapImmune's vaccine products. Under the terms of this agreement, Crucell has the rights to negotiate a license for TapImmune's TAP technologies for infectious disease indications.
Calmune Corporation And Crucell N.V. Enter Exclusive Research Collaboration
Calmune Corporation announced that it has established an exclusive research collaboration with Crucell N.V. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed. Under this collaboration, Calmune will use SEBVI, a technology to prepare a panel of potent, high-affinity human monoclonal antibodies (hMabs) against a pre-defined, undisclosed infectious disease target. Crucell will have the option to exclusively license these hMabs for further evaluation as development candidates, and to develop any that meet its required profile. Calmune will receive payments from Crucell at different stages of the discovery and development process, as well as a royalty on sales of products that incorporate antibodies generated by Calmune.
Crucell N.V. Reaffirms FY 2009 Guidance
Crucell N.V. reaffirmed its fiscal 2009 guidance and expects total revenue and other operation income to grow 20% in constant currencies and operating profit (EBIT) for fiscal 2009 to improve significantly compared to fiscal 2008. The Company reported revenues of EUR283.3 million and EBIT of EUR2.98 million in fiscal 2008. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenues of EUR344.50 million and EBIT of EUR39.70 million for fiscal 2009.
Crucell N.V.'s HIV Vaccine Receives Positive Preliminary Results of Phase I Study-DJ
Dow Jones reported that Crucell N.V. has announced that preliminary results of the Phase I study of its Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) vaccine were presented at La Conference Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) Vaccine 2009 in Paris, France. The preliminary results of the Phase I study show that this HIV candidate vaccine is safe and immunogenic. The Phase I clinical study is being conducted at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, USA and involves 48 healthy volunteers.

Dow Jones reported that Crucell N.V. plans to start third phase II clinical study of its investigational rabies monoclonal antibody combination within six months. This study will be conducted in Lotus Laboratories in Bangalore, India.
