F5 Networks, Inc. Chosen To Enhance Application Security At Standard Life

F5 Networks, Inc. announced that it has signed a deal with Standard Life to enhance the company`s application security. In a project supported by information security services specialist Vistorm, the solution leverages F5BIG-IP Application Security Manager (ASM) software running on multiple F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) devices. F5 Networks, Inc.`s BIG-IP ASM solution was selected after a rigorous evaluation of available technology and a successful proof-of-concept. With F5 solutions at Standard Life, BIG-IP`s layer seven load balancing capability becomes a key enabler of the SOA architecture, while the functionality of ASM supports compliance with PCI DSS, HIPAA, Basel II, and SOX regulations without the need for application changes or rewrites, or separate devices to perform different tasks.

F5 Networks, Inc. and Quova, Inc. announced a partnership and OEM agreement. The partnership will enhance F5's ability to provide more intelligent context aware application delivery solutions to IT organizations worldwide. The Quova technology maps IP addresses and related data to geographic locations at various levels of granularity. The contextual location information solves many security problems, such as enforcing download and access restrictions based on locality. The addition of Quova's IP geo data will allow F5 customers to solve a whole new range of business networking issues at the perimeter of the network rather than down at the web application level. Localization functions, such as setting the default language page and customizing content for a specific region, will also rely on the Quova data.

F5 Networks, Inc. announced that for the first quarter of 2010, it expects revenue to be in the range of $182 million to $187 million and earnings per share (EPS) both GAAP and non-GAAP, pull back a little bit. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts are expecting the Company to report revenue of $184 million for the same period.
