Internet Initiative Japan Inc. And Citrix Systems, Inc. Form Partnership For Cloud Services
Internet Initiative Japan Inc. and IIJ Technology Inc. (IIJ-Tech) announced that they will be partnering with Citrix Systems, Inc. (Citrix) in order to provide cloud services. IIJ-Tech has concluded a partnership contract through the new Citrix Service Provider (CSP) Program, which was created to offer Citrix software products to the Company's customers, such as service providers, and a Designated Distributor contract. The Company will offer the IIJ GIO Virtual Desktop Service starting in February 2010, delivering Citrix's virtual solutions on the Company's cloud service platform, IIJ GIO. This partnership has the objective to provide corporate users with the IIJ GIO Virtual Desktop Service as DaaS IIJ GIO is a cloud service that runs on the cloud platform built at the Company's data centers that are connected directly to the Company's broadband backbone network. To provide PaaS on IIJ GIO using Xen software licenses as the CSP Program Partner Under the CSP Program, IIJ-Tech will use the Xen software licenses to provide services using a monthly billing system.
Internet Initiative Japan Inc. And Cybozu Research Form Alliance To Promote Cloud Services
Internet Initiative Japan Inc. and Cybozu Research Institute, Inc. (Cybozu Research), a member of the Cybozu Inc.'s Group and developer of Cloud/SaaS businesses primarily using Cybozu products, announced the formation of a partnership between the two companies to promote cloud businesses. This partnership was formed through the Cybozu Research's partner support program called Cybozu CloudBusiness Partner, of which Internet Initiative Japan Inc. is the first member. Starting in November 2009, Cybozu Research's SaaS-based large-scale groupware called Cybozu Garoon SaaS will be released on the IIJ GIO cloud business platform which is announced by IIJ on October 5, 2009. This new service provides companies with a stable system with a high level of service and without the need to purchase hardware or software resources. This not only pushes down initial investment costs, but greatly reduces equipment costs, personnel costs, and other operating costs. iiMail Suite provided by IIJ Technology, Inc., an IIJ Group company, and Cybozu Garoon SaaS provided by Cybozu Research will be offered as an integrated solution. This integrated solution will be an SaaS-based service and include features from iiMail Suite -- such as mail server functions, archive, audit, misaddressing prevention, and mail encryption as well as features from Cybozu Garoon SaaS such as schedule planner, address book, and other groupware features.

Internet Initiative Japan Inc. Launches LaIT For SMEs
Internet Initiative Japan Inc. announced the launch of LaIT (pronounced light), a new brand that offers services at reasonable prices for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The initial service offering consists of LaIT Rental Server, a shared rental server service that supports creation of sites for mobile phones, and LaIT Private Ether, a VPN service that connects remote sites via L2 (layer 2). Both services will be released on July 29.
