Intelsat Selects Loral Space & Communications' Space Systems/Loral To Provide Communications Satellites
Space Systems/Loral (SS/L), a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide two new satellites to Intelsat, the provider of fixed satellite services (FSS) worldwide. The two satellites, Intelsat-19 and Intelsat-20, will be among the FSS satellites built with unprecedented capacity to provide services for broadband, video and voice applications. Intelsat-19 and Intelsat-20 will replace existing satellites that currently provide services to five continents and will offer services for broadcast television and telecommunications. The satellites also will have the capacity to support mobile communications and higher data rate network services.

AsiaSat Selects Loral Space & Communications's Space Systems/Loral For AsiaSat 5C
Space Systems/Loral (SS/L), a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications announced that it has been selected to provide a new communications satellite, named AsiaSat 5C, to Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited (AsiaSat). AsiaSat 5C will serve as a backup for AsiaSat 5, which is currently being built by Space Systems/Loral and is scheduled for launch in the third quarter of 2009. AsiaSat 5 will replace AsiaSat 2 at the orbital location of 100.5 degrees East.

Mobile Satellite Ventures (MSV) announced that both it and its joint venture partner Mobile Satellite Ventures (Canada) Inc. have selected Telesat to manage in-orbit operations of both the MSV-1 and MSV-2 satellites to be launched into respective U.S. and Canadian orbital slots. Telesat is privately held. Its principal shareholders are Canada's Public Sector Pension Investment Board and Loral Space & Communications Inc.
