Ramtron International Corporation Reports Q3 2009 Financial Results

Ramtron International Corporation announced that it reported total revenue of $11.6 million for the third quarter of 2009, compared with $17.4 million reported for the same quarter of 2008. Third-quarter product revenue was $11.3 million, compared with product revenue of $17.1 million reported for the same quarter previous year. Third quarter net income was $131,000, or $0.01 per share, compared with net income of $1.4 million, or $0.05 per share, for the same quarter a year earlier. Third-quarter 2009 results include a $40,000 restructuring charge related to restructuring and cost saving measures that were implemented in March of this year. The results for the third quarter also include non-cash, stock-based compensation expense of $376,000, and an income tax provision of $107,000. Without these items, third-quarter net income before tax would have been $654,000, or $0.02 per share.

Ramtron International Corporation announced that its FM22L16 4-Mbit (Mb) F-RAM has been selected by SBS Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (SBS) for use in a solid-state disk (SSD) data storage device. SBS will deploy the FM22L16 along with a standard Hard Disk Drive (HDD) interface and controller to store the virtual block-to-sector map for the Flash memory in the SSD. 

 
Ramtron International Corporation Expands F-RAM Serial Memory Line With 32-Kilobit Device

Ramtron International Corporation announced the FM24CL32, a serial nonvolatile RAM that offers high-speed read/write performance, low voltage operation, and superior data retention. The FM24CL32 features 32-Kilobit (Kb) nonvolatile memory, 2.7 to 3.6-volt operation in an 8-pin SOIC package that uses two-wire (I2C) protocol. The FM24CL32 features fast access, NoDelay writes, virtually unlimited read/write cycles (1E14), and low power consumption. The FM24CL32 is a direct hardware replacement for serial EEPROM memory used in industrial controls, metering, medical, military, gaming, and computing applications, among others. 

 
Ramtron International Corporation Comments On Q3, FY 2009 Earnings Guidance

Ramtron International Corporation announced that it expects to return to GAAP profitability in the third quarter 2009. The Company still expects to remain profitable in fiscal 2009 before restructuring, impairment, and stock-based compensation expenses, as well as income tax benefit. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report GAAP profit of $0.43 million for the third quarter 2009.
