SatCon Technology Corporation announced that it has been selected for the 10-megawatt Exelon City Solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant, the urban solar power plant, which will be built at a former industrial site in the West Pullman neighborhood on Chicago's South Side. The site, owned and operated by Exelon Generation, was designed and is being constructed by SunPower Corp., a manufacturer of high-efficiency solar cells, solar panels and solar systems.
SatCon Technology Corporation Supplies Solar PV Inverter Platforms For Canada`s Solar Power Plant
SatCon Technology Corporation announced that their PowerGate Plus 500 kW solar PV inverters were selected for and are now fully operational at First Light, Canada`s solar farm developed through a joint venture between SunEdison and SkyPower. The 9.1 megawatt First Light installation is located on approximately 90 acres of land in Stone Mills, Ontario, and is projected to generate more than 10 million kilowatt hours (kWhs), enough electricity to power almost 1,000 homes in its first year of operation. Under the terms of the agreement, Satcon supplied 18 of its PowerGate Plus 500 kW inverters, the industry`s most proven large scale solar PV power conversion technology solution, with over 170 megawatts delivered worldwide since 2005.
Canadian Solar Inc. And SatCon Technology Corporation Announces Strategic Partnership
Canadian Solar Inc. and Satcon Technology Corporation announced that they have signed a turnkey solution distribution agreement. As part of the contract, Canadian Solar and Satcon will market Canadian Solar's commercial solar PV systems with Satcon's commercial solar PV inverters for commercial rooftop and ground mounted power stations.
SatCon Technology Corporation Doubles Global Manufacturing Capacity And Partners With DB Schenker For Worldwide Logistics Services
SatCon Technology Corporation announced that it will expand global manufacturing capacity to over 600 megawatts in 2009, between its manufacturing facilities in Burlington, Ontario, Canada and Shenzhen, China, as well as partner with DB Schenker Logistics to provide global logistics and transportation services for all of Satcon's global supply chain needs. Satcon will partner with the DB Schenker Solar division to deliver global transportation services for its inverter operations located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada; Shenzhen, China; and Fremont, California. Satcon will also utilize DB Schenker in North America, Europe, and Asia to provide logistics and distribution services including final delivery to Satcon's customer`s door through DB Schenker's extensive land transport network.

SatCon Technology Corporation announced that it has installed four 250 kilowatt (kW) PowerGate Plus inverters at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), the solar rooftop installation in the southeast of the United States. The Orange County Convention Center 1.1 megawatt rooftop monocrystalline PV system occupies 200,000 square feet and was designed and built by Johnson Controls Inc, a global multi-industrial company in energy efficiency, sustainability and renewable energy.
