SMART Modular Technologies Raises Q1 2010 Guidance

SMART Modular Technologies raised its first quarter of 2010 guidance and expects net sales will be in the range of $110 to $120 million compare to previous guidance of $98 to $105 million, gross profit of $24 to $26 million compare to previous guidance of $20 to $22 million, net income per share of $0.04 to $0.06 compare to previous guidance of ($0.01) to $0.01 on a GAAP basis and on a non-GAAP basis, net income per diluted share of $0.06 to $0.08 compare to previous guidance of $0.02 to $0.04. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts on an average were expecting the Company to report revenue of $103 million and GAAP EPS of beak even for the first quarter of 2010. 

 
SMART Modular Technologies' Solid-State Drives Selected by Harris Corporation for F/A-18 Upgrade Program

SMART Modular Technologies announced that it has been selected by Harris Corporation to provide solid-state drives (SSDs) for use in its Mass Storage Unit (MSU) program. The new MSU, which is part of a larger F/A-18 program, is the first of a new family of avionics file servers. 

 
SMART Modular Technologies Issues Q3 2009 Guidance Below Analysts' Estimates

SMART Modular Technologies announced that for third quarter of 2009, it estimates net sales to be in the range of $95-$105 million, gross profit in the range of $17-$19 million and net (loss) per share to be in the range of ($0.05)-($0.04) on a GAAP basis. On a non-GAAP basis, excluding charges related to restructuring, stock-based compensation, and other non-recurring items, such as estimated costs associated with the planned relocation of its corporate headquarters, the Company expects net income per diluted share will be in the range of $0.00 to $0.01. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenues of $126 million and EPS of $0.02 for third quarter of 2009.

On a non-GAAP basis, excluding charges related to stock-based compensation, and other non-recurring items, if any, the Company expects net income per diluted share will be in the range of breakeven level to $0.01. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenue of $156 million and EPS of $0.05 for the second quarter of 2009. 

 
SMART Modular Technologies Announces Drop In Replacement For Intel Z-U130 Value SSD

SMART Modular Technologies announced that it has been selected by Intel to offer a drop in replacement for OEM customers currently using the Intel Z-U130 Value SSD. Manufactured using Intel NAND Flash components, the new SMART eUSB product has been specifically designed to support applications that previously used Intel's Z-U130 Value SSD.
