Symantec Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has approved a $1 billion share repurchase program. This open-ended program is effective immediately. Repurchases will be made in accordance with applicable securities laws in the open market or in privately negotiated transactions. Depending on market conditions and other factors, these repurchases may be commenced or suspended from time to time without prior notice. The Company also announced that for the third quarter of fiscal 2010 GAAP revenue is estimated between $1.484 billion and $1.514 billion. GAAP diluted earnings per share are estimated between $0.23 and $0.24. GAAP deferred revenue is expected to be in the range of $2.998 billion and $3.048 billion. Non-GAAP revenue for the third quarter of 2010 is estimated between $1.485 billion and $1.515 billion. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share are estimated between $0.36 and $0.37. Non-GAAP deferred revenue is expected to be in the range of $3.000 billion and $3.050 billion. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts are expecting the Company to report revenue of $1.503 billion and EPS of $0.37 for third quarter 2010.
