CREEC and Trimble Navigation Limited Sign Agreement to Form Joint Venture for the Chinese Railway Industry

Trimble Navigation Limited and the China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co. Ltd. (CREEC) announced that they have signed a definitive agreement to form a joint venture in China. The joint venture, 50% owned by Trimble and 50% owned by CREEC, will leverage Trimble's commercial positioning, communications and software technologies and CREEC's expertise in rail design and construction to develop and provide digital railway solutions that address the design, construction and maintenance for the Chinese railway industry. The joint venture will be based in Chengdu, China and is expected to begin operations after regulatory approval from the Chinese government.

Trimble Navigation Limited announced that it has introduced the Trimble CX 3D laser scanner with Trimble's proprietary WAVEPULSE technology. The Trimble CX is supported by Trimble Access software for Spatial Imaging, which runs on the Trimble Tablet rugged PC.

Trimble Navigation Limited announced that for fourth quarter of 2009, it expects revenue between $265-$270 million with GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $0.08-$0.10 and non-GAAP EPS of $0.19-$0.21. Non-GAAP outlook for the fourth quarter of 2009 excludes the amortization of intangibles of $14.8 million related to previous acquisitions and the anticipated impact of stock-based compensation expense of $5.0 million. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenues of $266 million and non-GAAP EPS of $0.24 for the same period. 

 
British Gas Selects Trimble Navigation Limited To Deploy GeoManager And Vehicle Diagnostics Solution

Trimble Navigation Limited announced that British Gas will be implementing Trimble's GeoManager solution across its fleet of over 8,000 mobile field engineers. British Gas, a current Taskforce customer, will be deploying GeoManager to realize the full benefits of integrated vehicle tracking and automated scheduling to improve operations. As part of the multi-year contract, British Gas will be deploying the new Trimble TVG-660 in-vehicle device that combines Global Positioning System (GPS) and vehicle diagnostic capabilities. The benefits of the solution include accurate fuel consumption reporting and information on vehicle condition and performance.
