TowerJazz and Tanner EDA Announce Process Design Kit (PDK) Collaboration For Power Management Device Design
TowerJazz and Tanner EDA, a provider of electronic design automation (EDA) tools, announced a joint initiative to develop Process Design Kits (PDKs) for analog/mixed-signal (A/MS) designers using Tanner EDA's HiPer Silicon software. This collaboration gives Tanner EDA customers access to TowerJazz's 0.18- and 0.35-micron power management process platform and TowerJazz customers access to Tanner EDA's A/MS tools for a complete IC design solution. Tower Semiconductor Ltd. and its fully owned U.S. subsidiary Jazz Semiconductor, operate collectively under the brand name TowerJazz.
Tower Semiconductor Ltd. Announces Phasor Solutions Selects TowerJazz For Transceiver Chipset For Mobile Broadband Service
Phasor Solutions, and TowerJazz, announced that Phasor has selected TowerJazz`s SiGe BiCMOS process to manufacture its transceiver chipset for mobile broadband service on moving platforms such as trains, manned and unmanned airplanes, and military vehicles. To achieve this service, satellite communications will be enabled by a phased array containing multiple transceiver ICs residing within an array of connected 8x12 inch flat panels which together function as a high gain satellite dish and related electronics. The SBC18HX process offered by TowerJazz includes high performance 0.18-micron SiGe Bipolar and high quality passive elements combined with high density 0.18-micron CMOS, well-suited for high-speed networking and millimeter wave applications. Tower Semiconductor Ltd. and its fully owned U.S. subsidiary Jazz Semiconductor, operate collectively under the brand name TowerJazz.

CMOSIS Ramps First Off The Shelf High Resolution Sensor Using Tower Semiconductor Ltd.'s Specialty 0.18 Micron CMOS Image Sensor Technology
Tower Semiconductor Ltd. and CMOSIS announced that CMOSIS has ramped its first off the shelf high resolution sensor (CMV2000) using Tower's advanced 0.18-micron CMOS image sensor (CIS) technology. This highly integrated image sensor targets machine vision applications and enables global shutter (snapshot) operation and fast on-chip analog to digital conversion (ADC) to meet this market's demanding requirements for edge performance, advanced features, and reduced die size and price. CMOSIS also selected Tower's advanced 0.18-micron process for its aggressive layout rules, allowing pixel structure featuring a pixel size of 5.5µm x 5.5µm which is needed to stay close to a 2/3" optical format with 2.2M pixel resolution and form factor. The CMV2000 combines a pipelined global shutter operation that allows true correlated double sampling and a full-frame rate of 300 fps and yields an unprecedented low noise level below 18 electrons and 16-channel LVDS interfacing.
