Universal Electronics, Inc. (UEI) announced that for fourth quarter 2009 it expects net sales to range between $81 million and $84 million and earnings per diluted share to range from $0.38 to $0.42. For fiscal 2009, net sales are expected to range between $313 million and $317 million and earnings per diluted share to range from $1.02 to $1.06. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts are expecting the Company to report revenue of $84 million and EPS of $0.46 for fourth quarter 2009; revenue of $314 million and EPS of $1.09 for fiscal 2009.

(UEI) announced that for the third quarter of 2009, it expects net sales to be in the range of $79-$82 million and earnings per diluted share (EPS) to be in the range of $0.26-$0.30. The Company also announce that it continues to produce sales growth for the remainder of fiscal 2009 and expect earnings to be relatively flat compared to the prior year. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts are expecting the Company to report EPS of $0.34 on revenues of $78 million for the third quarter of 2009.

For fiscal 2009, it expects net sales to grow between 3% and 8% from $287.1 million in the fiscal 2008 and EPS to grow between 0% and 8% over the $1.09 per diluted share earned in fiscal 2008. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenue of $70.4 million and EPS of $0.24 for second quarter of 2009; revenue of $290.74 million and EPS of $1.10 for fiscal 2009.

Universal Electronics, Inc. (UEI) Acquires Zilog Inc.'s Universal Remote Control Software Technology And Related Assets

Universal Electronics, Inc. (UEI) announced that it has purchased universal remote control software and other intellectual property and related assets and personnel from Zilog Inc. UEI has acquired certain of Zilog`s patents and other intellectual property and assets related to its universal remote control business, including Zilog`s full library and database of infrared codes, and software tools. In addition, UEI has hired Dr. Norman Sheridan, Zilog`s Executive Vice President of Technology and Operations and CTO and other business, sales and engineering personnel, including all of Zilog`s personnel located in India.
