Versant Corporation and Panasas, announced a partnership to help accelerate database and storage performance for high-end application developers. The combined platform addresses the most demanding database and storage requirements found in high performance computing applications, especially for financial services, modeling and simulation, and complex telecommunication network management. Panasas provides parallel access to storage with very high concurrency that allows customers of both Panasas and Versant to build new applications for life sciences, financial services and satellite imaging that cannot be done with traditional SAN/NAS storage and relational databases. The Versant Object Database allows these complex applications to be built quickly, while Panasas provides the storage I/O and scalability to achieve a customer's performance targets.
