WebMediaBrands Inc Signs Agreement To Sell Internet.com Assets For $18 Million In Cash

WebMediaBrands Inc announced that it has entered into a definitive asset purchase agreement to sell its Internet.com division to QuinStreet, Inc. for an aggregate purchase price of $18 million in cash. WebMediaBrands expects the transaction to be free of taxes.

Jupitermedia Corporation announced that it has completed the previously announced sale of Jupiterimages Corporation (Jupiterimages), a wholly owned subsidiary of Jupitermedia, to Getty Images, Inc. (Getty Images) for $96 million in cash, subject to certain post-closing adjustments. In addition, Jupitermedia announced that it will change its name to WebMediaBrands Inc. and its NASDAQ symbol to WEBM, effective February 24, 2009.

Jupitermedia Corporation announced that Christopher Cardell, the President and Chief Operating Officer and a Director of the Company, has submitted his resignation to the Company in order to pursue other interests. Mr. Cardell has been the President and Chief Operating Officer and a Director of the Company since its inception in 1998. Effective immediately, Alan Meckler, the Company's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, will also serve as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company.
