Mr. Andrew A. Laing, MA LLB, is Deputy Chief Executive, Executive Director of Aberdeen Asset Management Plc. Andrew joined the Group in 1986 with responsibility for private equity investment. Andrew was subsequently appointed Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Aberdeen, Andrew practiced commercial law and was a private equity fund manager in Edinburgh. He graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an MA in Politics and International Relations, and an LLB. Andrew serves on the board of the Investment Managers Association and is also a director of a number of Group subsidiary companies. Andrew was originally appointed to the Board in 1987 and then again on 23 January 2004 and was appointed Deputy Chief Executive in 2008.
