Mr. Bruce S. Gordon is Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of ADT Corp since September 2012. From August 2005 through April 2007, Mr. Gordon served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the NAACP. Until his retirement in December 2003, Mr. Gordon was the President of Retail Markets at Verizon Communications, Inc., a provider of wireline and wireless communications. Prior to the merger of Bell Atlantic Corporation and GTE, which formed Verizon in July 2000, Mr. Gordon filled a variety of positions at Bell Atlantic Corporation, including Group President, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, and Vice President, Sales. Mr. Gordon also serves as a director of CBS Corporation and Northrop Grumman Corporation. Previously, Mr. Gordon served as a director of Southern Company, an electricity generating company, from 1994 to 2006, and as a director of Tyco from 2003 to 2012. Mr. Gordon graduated from Gettysburg College and has a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
