Mr. Donald Shippar has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of ALLETE, Inc. He resigned from the position of Chief Executive Officer of the company effective April 30, 2010. He has served as Director of ALLETE, Inc. since 2004 and has been Chairman of ALLETE since January 2006. Mr. Shippar was named President and Chief Executive Officer of ALLETE in 2004. Since joining the Company in 1976, Mr. Shippar has served as Vice President of Transmission and Distribution, Senior Vice President for Customer Service and Delivery, Chief Operating Officer of Minnesota Power, and President of Minnesota Power. Mr. Shippar also serves as a trustee of the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.
