People: Amec PLC (AMEC.L)

Mr. John P. Connolly is Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board of AMEC PLC., since 1 June 2011. A chartered accountant, he spent his career until May 2011 with global professional services firm Deloitte, was Global Chairman between 2007 and 2011, and prior to that, Global Managing Director between 2003 and 2007. He was Senior Partner and CEO of the UK Partnership from 1999 until his retirement from the Partnership. He is the chairman of G4S plc and also of a number of private ompanies. Beyond commercial business roles, John is on the Board of Governors of London Business School, a member of the CBI President’s Advisory Council and of the British American Business International Advisory Board. He is chairman of the appeal board for The Centre for Children’s Rare Disease Research at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
