People: AMCORE Financial, Inc. (AMFI.O)

Mr. Thomas Szmanda is Executive Vice President Retail Banking Group and joined AMCORE Financial Inc in 2003 bringing with him over 19 years of sales management experience. He is Executive Vice President, Retail Banking Group since September 2005 and Director of the Bank since November 2005. In his current position Mr. Szmanda is responsible for developing and implementing the business plan for AMCORE’s Retail Division. Prior to AMCORE, he was Senior Vice President, Director of Retail Banking at Citizens Bank in Pittsburgh. His experience also includes senior positions with Key Bank Corporation and St. Paul Federal Bank in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Szmanda earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics, as well as a master’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Active in the community, Mr. Szmanda serves on the board of CONTACT. He is also a member of the American Heart Association and Bethlehem Lutheran Church boards. In addition, he is a former advisor to the Small Business Administration.
