Dr. Mohan S. Misra, Ph.D. has been appointed as Chairman of the Board, Chief Strategy Officer of Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc effective August 3, 2009. He has served as Interim President and Interim Chief Executive Officer of Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Strategy Officer of the company. He founded and has served as chief executive officer of ITN since 1994. Before founding ITN, Dr. Misra spent 19 years with Martin Marietta Corporation (now Lockheed Martin Corporation) in the areas of material research, development and manufacturing. While at Martin Marietta, Dr. Misra worked first as manager of Research and Technology, and then led the company's development of long term technology strategies. Dr. Misra has helped develop and implement several key technologies for aerospace applications including thin-film PV products, smart materials, advanced composites and lightweight structures. Dr. Misra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Benaras Hindu University in India, an Master of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
