Traub, Kenneth 

Brief Biography

Mr. Kenneth H. Traub serves as an Independent Director of Athersys Inc., since June 2012. Mr. Traub has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ethos Management LLC, a private consulting and investment firm since 2009. Mr. Traub served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of American Bank Note Holographics, Inc., or ABNH. Mr. Traub managed the rebuilding, growth and sale of ABNH. Following the sale of ABNH, Mr. Traub served as vice president of JDSU in 2008. In 1994, Mr. Traub co-founded Voxware, Inc., a pioneer in ‘Voice over IP’, and acted as its Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and director until January 1998. Prior to Voxware, he was Vice President of Finance of Trans-Resources, Inc. Mr. Traub currently serves on the boards of the following publicly traded companies: MRV Communications, Inc. (OTC: MRVC) since November 2011 and as Chairman since January 2012 where he is a member of the Audit Committee, Compensation Committee and Nominating and Governance Committee; iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS) since June 2009, where he is a member of the Compensation Committee and Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee; DSP Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSPG) since May 2012; and MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIPS) since December 2011 where he is a member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Traub also served on the board of Phoenix Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: PTEC) from November 2009 through its sale in December 2010, where he was a member of the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee. Mr. Traub received a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University in 1983.
