Brief Biography
Mr. Anatol von Hahn serves as Group Head - Canadian Banking of The Bank of Nova Scotia. He had been Executive Vice-President, Latin America of The Bank of Nova Scotia. Mr. von Hahn will be responsible for retail, small business and commercial banking in Canada. Anatol joined Scotiabank in Toronto in 1984 and, over the years, has worked in various positions in both Domestic and International Banking. In 1987, he became Managing Director and Country Head for Singapore. He moved to Chile in 1990 as Special Advisor to the General Manager and Alternate Director of Banco Sud Americano (now Scotiabank Sud Americano), and went to Argentina in 1995 to oversee the Bank’s operations there. He arrived at Scotiabank Inverlat in Mexico in 2000, rising to his most recent role as President and CEO, Grupo Scotiabank, Mexico, in 2003. Mr. Von Hahn has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, and participated in the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. While in Mexico, including Ronald McDonald - Mexico, Young President Organization (YPO) Mexico, and the Finance Committee of the ABC Hospital. He also was the Vice-Chairman of the Mexican Bankers Association from 2005 to 2007.
