Mr. Martin James Gilbert, LL.D., is Independent Non-Executive Director of British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC., effective 29 November 2011. Mr. Gilbert is experienced finance professional and entrepreneur. Mr Gilbert is CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, the fund management group that he cofounded in 1983. Named CEO of the Year at the Business Insider/PWC Scotland PLC Awards in 2011, he is a member of the Scottish Government’s Financial Services Advisory Board and the EFAMA President’s Advisory Council. Mr. Gilbert is a director of a number of investment trusts and is Chairman of Firstgroup plc, Chairman of the Investment Committee of Chaucer Holdings PLC and Non-Executive Director of Dynmark International Limited.
