Mr. Francois Antoine Eugene Muths Cardenas serves as Vice President of Operations of Compania de Minas Buenaventura SAA. He was appointed to this post on February 2, 2007. Prior to that, he acted as Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Inversiones Mineras del Sur SA from 2005 till 2006. In addition, he held the position of General Manager from 1985 to 2005 and Superintendent of Uchucchacua Mine from 1981 to 1983. He has worked at the Company for 33 years holding various posts, such as Director and General Manager at Inversiones Mineras del Sur SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (UNI), and a Masters degree in Mining from the Colorado School of Mines. In 2005, he completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
