Mr. Timothy Weingarten is Independent Director of Cogent Communications Group Inc. Mr. Weingarten is currently the co-founder and CEO of ShopTAP Inc. Prior to founding ShopTAP, he was the Chairman and CEO of Visage Mobile. He is also a consultant to and former General Partner of Worldview Technology Partners—an early stage VC fund with over $1B under management. From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Weingarten was a member of the telecom equipment research group at Robertson Stephens and Company. Mr. Weingarten is also a member of the board of directors of, Zoove, Inc., and Ooma, Inc. He serves on the compensation committee of each of those companies. Mr. Weingarten has been nominated to continue serving on the Board because of his knowledge of the U.S. venture capital backed companies making use of the Internet. The Board values this insight since Cogent's future growth depends to a great extent on the uses made of the Internet.
