Bhide holds a doctorate in international trade from the Institute of International Studies, Geneva and also holds a masters degree in economics from George Mason University, United States of America, a masters in public policy from John F Kennedy School of Government Harvard University, United States of America, Smt. Bhidejoined the Indian Administrative Service in 1973 and in thecourseof her36years long career has held various posts such as Chairman and Managing Director, IndiaTrade Promotion Organization, Ministry of Commerce, Gol, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministryof External Affairs, Gol, Additional Secretaryand Financial Advisor, Ministryof Defence, Go] and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Gol.
