Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard is Member of the Management Board and Head of Daimler Trucks and Buses at Daimler AG with effect from April 1, 2013. Prior to that, he served as Member of the Management Board with responsibility for Manufacturing and Procurement of Mercedes-Benz Cars & Mercedes-Benz Vans business unit at the Company from February 18, 2010. In 1994, he joined Mercedes-Benz AG. Between February 2005 and January 2006, he was Member of the Management Board at Volkswagen AG. In his professional career, he held various positions, including Head of Business Unit at Mercedes-Benz Vans in 2009; Member of the Management Board, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Chrysler Group at DaimlerChrystler AG between 2002 and 2004; Deputy Member of the Management Board, COO of Chrystler Group at DaimlerChrystler AG in 2000; Managing Director of Mercedes-AMG GmbH in 1999; S-Class Assembly Center Manager at Mercedes-Benz AG Sindelfingen plant with responsibility for the new S-Class launch in 1994, as well as Project Manager for reduction of material costs and increase productivity in Mercedes-Benz AG assembly plants from 1992 till 1993. Dr. Bernhard holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Economics from Technische Universitaet Darmstadt (1986). In addition, he holds Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University (1988). In 1990, he completed Doctorate degree in International Exchange Rate Risk from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universitaet Frankfurt am Main.
