Prof. Dr. Thomas Weber has decided to resign as Member of the Management Board and Head of Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development at Daimler AG effective December 31, 2016, which he served since May 1, 2004. He joined the Company’s Management Board on January 1, 2003. In his professional career, he held various positions, including Deputy Member of the Management Board, Research & Technology at DaimlerChrysler AG in 2003; Vice President, Speaker of the Model Series A-Class and Rastatt Plant Manager at DaimlerChrysler AG in 2002; Rastatt Plant Manager of DaimlerChrysler AG in 1999; Mercedes-Benz Engine Production Center Manager in Stuttgart, DaimlerChrysler AG in 1998; Director, Bad Cannstatt engine plant, Daimler-Benz AG in 1995; Head of New V-engine generation project, Daimler-Benz AG in 1994; Assistant to the Management Board for Passenger Car Production and Commercial Vehicle Development, Mercedes-Benz AG in 1991. Prof. Dr. Weber graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Universitaet Stuttgart (University of Stuttgart) in 1980. He also gained a Doctorate in Philosophy degree from Universitaet Stuttgart in 1987.
