Brief Biography

Donald J. Tomnitz is Vice Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer of D.R. Horton, Inc. He was a Vice President in charge of various divisions of D.R. Horton from 1983 until he was elected Vice President - Western Region of D.R. Horton in August 1994. From July 1996 until November 1998, Mr. Tomnitz was President of D.R. Horton’s Homebuilding Division; in January 1998 he was elected an Executive Vice President of D.R. Horton; in November 1998 he was elected Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of D.R. Horton; and in March 2000, he became President as well. Mr. Tomnitz previously was a Captain in the U.S. Army, a Vice President of RepublicBank Dallas, N.A., and a Vice President of Crow Development Company, a Trammell Crow company.
