Mr. Pierre M. Omidyar is Chairman of the Board of eBay Inc., since May 1996. Mr. Omidyar holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from Tufts University. Pierre M. Omidyar, age 45, founded eBay as a sole proprietorship in September 1995. He has been a director and Chairman of the Board since eBay’s incorporation in May 1996. Mr. Omidyar is the Founding Partner and Chairman of Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm committed to creating opportunity for individuals to improve their lives and Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Publisher of Civil Beat, an online news service formed in 2010. Mr. Omidyar serves on the Board of Trustees of Omidyar-Tufts Microfinance Fund, the Punahou School, Santa Fe Institute, and the Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute. In 2009, Mr. Omidyar was appointed by President Obama to serve as a Commissioner for the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships.
