Prof. Gian Maria Gros-Pietro has served as Non-Executive Independent Director of Fiat SpA since June 23, 2005. He also serves as Member of the Internal Control and Risks, as well as of the Compensation Committee of the Company. He graduated in Economics from Universita degli Studi di Torino. He is Chairman of Credito Piemontese and serves as Director in Credito Valtellinese, Edison, Caltagirone SpA and Italy 1 Investment SA. He is member of the General Council and Executive Committee of Confindustria and President of Federtrasporto, the Italian federation of transportation enterprises belonging to Confindustria, and of Agens, the association of railway and services companies. He is also member of Assonime and of the General Council and Executive Committee of the Employers’ Association of Rome. He is also member of CNEL, the National Council for the Economy and Labour. He is a founding member of Cotec Foundation and member of the Boards of Cotec and CENSIS. He began his professional career in 1964 as lecturer at the School of Industrial Administration of Turin University, subsequently becoming head of its Department of Production Management. He was also professor of Industrial Economics at Turin University. At present, he is professor of Business Economics and Head of the Department of Economics and Business at the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome. He was Chairman of Atlantia and Autostrade per l’Italia from June 2002 to April 2010, of Eni from November 1999 to May 2002 and of Iri from June 1997 to November 1999. He was Director of ANAS from 1995 to 1996, member of the Rating Committee of Italrating from 1995 to 1996, Director of the University of Turin representing CNR for over a decade and member of several other boards, including Finmeccanica, Teknecomp and Cassa di Risparmio di Torino. From 1974 to 1995, he was head of Ceris. He is on the Scientific Committee of L’Industria and Mercato, Concorrenza e Regole periodicals. He chairs the Scientific Committee of Nomisma.
