Mr. Terrence K. Young has been Independent Director of CGG SA since January 12, 2007. Mr. Young is member of the Company's Technology Committee and the Hygiene, Safety, Environment & Sustainable Development Committee. He is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines and started his career working as a pilot and flight instructor for the US Navy from 1969 to 1974. Subsequently, from 1979 and 1982, he was Assistant Professor of Geophysics at the Colorado School of Mines. From 1982 to 1983, he was in charge of geophysical research at Compagnie Generale de Geophysique in Denver. From 1983 to 2000, he held various positions at Mobil Research and Development Corporation, the last one being Professor at the Institute for Statistics and its Applications of the Carnegie Mellon University. Since 2000, Mr. Young has been Dean of the Geophysical Department of the Colorado School of Mines.
